Airbus Helicopters is the world’s largest helicopter manufacturer, with its site at Oxford Airport serving as Britain’s civil helicopter hub.
AHUK offers extensive experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance, and spares support. Its in-house engineering capabilities include design, customization, installation, flight-testing, certification, technical support, maintenance, training, and the supply of spares for civil and military applications.
AHUK is the MoD’s preferred provider of helicopters and maintenance for its No. 1 Helicopter Flying School (MFTS) located at RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey).
Description/Overall purpose of the Job
Support AHUK Airworthiness and Certification activities, including approval of changes and in-service support.
Main responsibilities
* Provide certification expertise and supporting documentation to ensure the final design complies with certification and airworthiness requirements.
* Define, progress, and facilitate testing and analysis for compliance verification with relevant parties.
* Attend design and project meetings to provide airworthiness and certification inputs and progress reports.
* Facilitate compliance verification and design approval of changes.
* When authorized by the Head of Design, undertake independent Compliance Verification in accordance with IR21A.239(b) and AHUK DOA Privileges IR21A.263.
* Review reported failures, malfunctions, and defects affecting airworthiness and determine necessary actions.
* Maintain technical competency and develop team members’ skills as needed.
Knowledge and Skills
* Experience in aircraft/rotorcraft industry.
* Proven experience with Design integration and technical knowledge.
* Qualified to deliver airworthiness and certification deliverables, with knowledge of FAR/JAR/CS 27 and 29 Certification Specifications.
* Knowledge of CAA IR 21J DOA and MAA DAOS processes and practices.
* Understanding of Aircraft System and Software Safety Analysis processes.
* Background in aviation engineering, with broad knowledge of aircraft systems.
* Experience with compliance findings, equipment qualification standards, and military/civil requirements.
* Ability to plan, prioritize, and problem-solve effectively.
* Proficient in relevant software applications.
* Experience in rotorcraft system integration is advantageous.
* Military background is preferred.
Education, Qualifications or Training
* Aeronautical or equivalent Degree, or relevant professional experience or training.

* DBS Security Clearance and eligibility for SC clearance.
