Overview
An opportunity to join the Nuclear Medicine team based at the University Hospital of North Durham. The post supports maintenance of the aseptic environment in the Radiopharmacy and assists in delivering a comprehensive Nuclear Medicine and DEXA service, performing approximately 4200 patient examinations per year. The post holder should be able to undertake the physical requirements of the role, prioritise patient care, and work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Assist with cleaning of the radiopharmacy to maintain the aseptic environment.
* Undertake stock checks and assist with patient investigations.
* Contribute to the production of Nuclear Medicine images and care of patients across the department under the direct supervision of qualified Clinical Technologists.
* Assist in the safe manufacture of sterile radiopharmaceuticals for use across the Trust, including maintaining a sterile environment and monitoring the radiopharmacy suite and stock control.
* Undertake a range of activities within the imaging service under the direct supervision of a qualified Clinical Technologist.
* Assist technologists and physicists in delivering a high-quality, efficient Nuclear Medicine service and maintain a professional, caring approach to patients.
* Engage in a range of technical activities within the radiopharmacy under the direct supervision of the Radiopharmacy Technologist, having completed an in-house competency-based training programme covering Quality Assurance, GMP and Quality Control.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Ability to undertake the duties described and demonstrate a professional, caring approach to patients.
* Willingness to undertake in-house competency-based training as described (QA, GMP, QC concepts).
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with opportunities for role development and ongoing training.
