Personal Assistant to Strategic Director About the Role We are seeking a professional and highly organised Personal Assistant to provide dedicated support to a Strategic Director within a local authority. This is a high-profile role requiring discretion, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities with confidence. You will act as the first point of contact for the Strategic Director, managing correspondence, diary appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements. You will also play a key role in maintaining efficient office systems and supporting senior-level decision-making. Key Responsibilities Provide a confidential PA and secretarial service to the Strategic Director Manage diaries, arrange and coordinate meetings, interviews, and appointments Prepare and draft correspondence, reports, and minutes with attention to detail Handle enquiries from internal and external stakeholders professionally Arrange travel, accommodation, and hospitality as required Maintain and improve office and filing systems, ensuring smooth workflow Liaise with senior staff, elected members, external partners, and service users Support the Strategic Director in managing priorities and deadlines Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department Skills & Experience At least 3 years' experience as a PA to a Director or senior manager in a local authority or public sector organisation Strong administrative and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism Competent in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office systems Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels Proactive, flexible, and able to work under pressure while prioritising effectively Qualifications RSA III Typing/Word Processing/Text Processing or equivalent, or demonstrable experience 4 GCSEs (A-C) including English, or equivalent Additional information · 3-6 months temporary contract · 3 days in the office per week, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays
