Role Description Specialist Support Practitioner - Personal Care

Newcastle College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Specialist Support Practitioner in Personal Care to join a passionate team that supports the achievements of students with additional learning needs and/or disabilities, including young people and adults.
As a Specialist Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals requiring personal care, including moving & handling, toileting, feeding, and medication, while maintaining the dignity of learners at all times. You will provide practical and mobility support for students who need assistance with manoeuvring around the campus, including sighted guiding, wheelchair access, and other physical support to ensure full access to their curriculum. Additionally, you will support the delivery of training to learners and colleagues on access-related matters.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and adaptable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, committed to inclusive education. You will have Level 2 English & Maths or equivalent and be able to work flexibly, including evenings and supporting at our off-site provision.
