Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Facilities and Maintenance Technician (Animal Centre) to join the Animal Centre at Berkshire College of Agriculture on a fixed-term, part-time basis.
Facilities and Maintenance Technician (Animal Centre)
This is a part-time, fixed-term position working 28 hours per week on a 12-month contract based at our Berkshire College of Agriculture campus in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
As the Facilities and Maintenance Technician (Animal Centre) it will be your responsibility to maintain a safe and secure working environment for animals, staff, and students at the Animal Centre.
This will involve daily checks, routine repairs, and project work. Collaborating with the Estates department to develop a maintenance schedule ensuring that the facilities are kept in good shape. The role will involve the use of heavy machinery and tools such as Excavators and Telehandlers, experience and knowledge of the use of such equipment is essential.
The technician will also educate animal management students on construction, maintenance, health and safety, and animal enclosure maintenance as part of their Estate skills module by assisting in practical sessions and providing instruction and assessment to students to enable them to successfully complete their estates skills tasks correctly and safely.
To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a general maintenance, or handy person role and ideally hold a professional relevant trades qualification as well as a full driver’s licence with experience of driving large/heavy vehicles.
