Job Summary
Acorns Children's Hospice Trust are looking for a Children's Palliative Nurse Associate for our Black Country Hospice in Walsall to deliver holistic care to children and young people with complex health needs.
Location and Salary
Location: Black Country Hospice, Walsall (WS5 4NL)
Salary: £27,500 to £29,000 a year plus additional enhancements for nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
* Work under the direction of the Matron to provide care in a variety of settings.
* Provide personalised care to children, young people and families as per the child’s holistic care plan, identifying changes in condition and ensuring escalation to the registered nurse.
* Empower children, young people and their relatives to make decisions about their care and to exercise choice.
* Help ensure that children and young people are introduced to and encouraged to engage in a wide range of stimulating and creative activities by interaction and play, both indoors and outdoors, encouraging the use of local community facilities where appropriate.
* Ensure that the child’s or young person’s psychological and social needs are met as well as their physical care.
* Provide care 7 days a year with day and night shifts; flexibility is required.
Qualifications
* Qualified Registered Nursing Associate (NMC) registration.
* Previous experience working with children with complex health needs or in palliative care.
* Ability to provide sensitive care, taking into account culture, beliefs and wishes.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures for adults and children.
