Join to apply for the Senior Fellow in Cardiothoracic Surgery role at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The appointment will be a Trust Appointment designated as Clinical Fellow for a period of 6 months and, subject to a successful appraisal, will be renewable for a further 6 months.
Responsibilities
* Participate closely in all activities within the Directorate of Cardiothoracic Surgery and be directly accountable to the consultant staff.
* Participate in the pre-, intra- and post-operative management of patients under consultant supervision.
* Assist in theatre with consultant supervised operative training appropriate to level of experience.
* Provide assistance to both consultant anaesthetists and surgeons in the post-operative management of patients.
* Participate in the pre- and post-operative management of patients on the wards under the direction of the appropriate Consultant Surgeon.
* Participate in the academic program, assisting with presentations within the division and contributing to training initiatives across the division; time will be allowed to pursue individual research or training initiatives.
* Undertake audit and service evaluation projects.
* Participate in the same rota as the other higher surgical trainees and benefit from similar training opportunities.
* Unit undertakes over 1100 cardiac operations and more than 700 thoracic operations per year; unit specialises in minimally invasive cardiac and thoracic surgery, including robotic-assisted.
