Overview
Consultant Psychiatrist, L&D West. This vacancy is for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities (CTPLD) in West Surrey. Youll be based at Cassia House in Guildford, working with a multidisciplinary team to support adults with learning disabilities and complex health needs.
Our service offers specialist mental health care for people with learning disabilities across the community. Youll contribute to psychiatric assessment, treatment planning, and leadership within a team of nurses, psychologists, therapists, and social care staff, working with other NHS services, local authorities, and voluntary organisations to support joined-up care.
You will provide medical and psychiatric leadership to the Community LD Team for the West locality and offer a specialist psychiatric service for inpatient and community assessment & treatment for adults with a learning disability in the West locality (community) and Surrey-wide (inpatient), and for outpatient care in the catchment area. Attendance at homes and residential day services may be required, and participation in multidisciplinary & multi-agency assessment & care planning and team activities for service development is expected.
You will provide consultation & support to all members of the Team, Service Manager, voluntary & private organisations, day & residential services, carers, care staff & relatives, and to medical colleagues regarding the psychiatry of learning disability and will respond appropriately to emergency referrals.
Responsibilities
* Provide psychiatric assessment, treatment planning, and leadership within the Community LD Team.
* Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary and multi-agency assessment and care planning.
* Deliver inpatient, community, and outpatient psychiatric services for adults with learning disabilities in the catchment area.
* Visit homes and residential day services as necessary and participate in relevant team meetings.
* Offer consultation and support to team members, service managers, voluntary & private organisations, carers, and medical colleagues (including psychiatrists, other medical specialists, and GPs).

* Salary: NHS Consultant Grade £109,725 - £145,478 + £149 fringe
