We have excellent opportunities for dynamic, confident, autonomous, skilled and highly motivated Social Workers to join the Safeguarding Adults Team, based within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub at Derby City Council. Are you an experienced worker who embraces the challenges of adult safeguarding, this role presents a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your career in adult social care.
In return for your commitment we will provide a supportive team environment with access to develop your own professional practice. You will receive regular supervision, both formally and informally and will be supported to attend training to progress your career along with regular continued professional development and reflective practice sessions with peers.

The Opportunity
In the role of Adult Safeguarding Social Worker, here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:
- Work as part of a multi-agency team to respond to safeguarding adult concerns and undertake safeguarding enquiries
- Have meaningful conversations with citizens of Derby about keeping themselves safe and what outcomes they would like as a result of safeguarding enquiries
- Work with citizens and partner agencies to formulate safety plans that make a difference
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have…
-A recognised Social Work Qualification
- Current Social Work England Registration
- Required to have successfully completed your ASYE qualification, PQ1 or equivalent qualification.
- Experience of undertaking Safeguarding Adult Enquiries in line with the Care Act 2014.
- The ability to work with citizens of Derby using the principles of community led support, strengths and asset based practice and to promote positive risk taking.
- Understanding of and ability to explain complex legal social and welfare situations, including the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 1983, The Care Act 2014.
- The ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines, ability to manage complex caseloads.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Computer/ ICT literacy skills
