PRS Engineering has engaged with a key client and a leading Oil & Gas Equipment manufacturer based in the Worcestershire area. Due to team expansion and booming industry, we are seeking a Manual Machinist on a permanent basis. Very impressive facilities and clean working environment. You will be working with and collaborating with a friendly and welcoming team delivering on high value projects used world-wide.
We are in search for a self-motivated individual who would like to join a progressing company. This role is based within an established Production department; therefore, a strong team player attitude is essential. This is a manual machinist role, not CNC.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
1. Must be experienced using machinery such as vertical/horizontal borers, lathes and drilling machines
2. Maths and English GCSE grade 4/5 (equivalent grade C equivalent) is preferable but not essential

Summary of Job:
10. To undertake machining duties, as required, in accordance with the company quality standards and best engineering working practices
11. To undertake activities in a timely and efficient manner in order to maintain company contractual delivery requirements
12. To assist, where required, in peripheral activities, e.g., assembly, packing, etc.
Staff relationship:
13. Directly responsible to the Works Manager/Production Planning Manager
14. Liaises with all internal departments, as appropriate
15. Has proactive involvement with internal and external quality audits
Duties and responsibilities:
16. Shall be fully committed to the achievement of the company policies and objectives with attention to quality and safety
17. Responsible for carrying out duties in a safe, timely, economic, and effective manner
18. To ensure that the workshop is adequately equipped, and machinery and tools are well maintained through a planned maintenance schedule/safe to use
19. To ensure, where appropriate, that personnel are adequately trained and fully competent to be able to carry out work delegated to them, in line with required quality and safety standards
20. Responsible for the maintenance and good housekeeping of the working area
21. To make recommendations, where appropriate, for improvements to existing working practices
22. To make recommendations for renewal/replacement of plant and equipment
23. Ensure production consumables are maintained at an adequate level
24. Authority to commit expenditure must be obtained from senior management
25. Ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times; this applies to internal and visiting personnel
26. Demonstrate a flexible and positive approach to duties, which may be require from time to time
27. Undertake reasonable instructions and tasks from senior personnel, commensurate with the nature of the job and in the best interests of the company

Hours of work
Works hours enable flexitime working, covering a 40 hour week. Flexible start and finish times are available with core hours which must be covered each day. Monday to Thursday covers an 8.5 hour shift with half an hour unpaid lunch break and a ten minute paid break in the morning and afternoon, Friday covers a 6 hour shift with no lunch break but does include a twenty minute paid break. Overtime is available dependent upon workload, further details will be given at interview stage.
