What you'll be trusted with
You'll take ownership of externally delivered roofing and planned works contracts - from early specification right through to completion.
That means:
* Managing planned roofing and refurbishment programmes, start to finish
* Setting clear specifications and programmes that make sense on site
* Holding contractors to account on quality, safety and compliance
* Keeping a close eye on costs and progress - no nasty surprises
* Working collaboratively with internal teams and partners
* Handling resident queries with professionalism and empathy
* You'll be given the space to manage, not micromanaged.
What matters here
You don't need to be flashy - just competent, calm and organised.
You'll likely have:
* An HNC (or equivalent experience) in a building-related discipline
* Solid experience managing roofing or planned works in social housing
* A good grasp of CDM, H&S and asbestos regulations
* Strong contract and commercial awareness
* A driving licence and comfort travelling locally
More importantly, you'll care about standards - and about the people living in the homes you're improving.
