Position
Domestic Supervisor – Ailsa Hospital, permanent contract.
Hours
As and when required, hours per week. From 1 April 2026 the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full‑time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 (pro rata for part‑time staff) without loss of earnings.
What you will do
The successful applicant will be responsible for the allocation of work, daily supervision, training and welfare of staff within their area. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and basic computing skills are essential, as is the ability to work individually and as part of a team. Previous supervisory experience and knowledge of NHS standards and procedures would be advantageous. Flexibility on shift is essential; the role may require additional hours to provide cover during periods of leave.
Knowledge, training and experience required
Provide a wide and varied range of Domestic Services that support Clinical Services throughout Ayrshire and Arran in line with NHS Scotland National Cleaning Services Specification to fulfil Healthcare Environment Inspectorate Standards and meet Facilities Monitoring Tool Targets. Experience with industrial cleaning equipment or working within a healthcare setting is advantageous but full training will be given. The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and good communication skills are essential.

Skills and Qualifications
Good communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency in basic computer use; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of or willingness to be trained in NHS domestic and environmental services standards.
