As a staff nurse in Vascular you will be working on our 37 bedded ward located in the Thomas Kemp tower at Royal Sussex county Brighton.
You will be caring for patients with arterial and venous diseases, pre and post operatively, learning about the different acute Vascular problems they are admitted with. You will gain specialist knowledge in post operative care for angioplasty's, amputations, carotid procedures and more.
Key responsibilities include patient assessment, wound management, pain assessment with input from the pain nurse specialists manging diabetes with input from the diabetes nurse specialists.
We are looking for a dynamic forward thinking nurse who will promote excellence in all aspects of patient care.
This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route. Sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds, and any role-specific criteria.
Main duties of the job
1. Caring for patients undergoing vascular procedures (bypass, angioplasty).
2. Managing complex wounds and vascular, diabetic foot care.
3. Working in a multidisciplinary team with vascular surgeons, podiatrists, and nurse specialists.
4. Supporting patients and families through acute and chronic disease management

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· Deliver safe person-centred care, working pro-actively and on your feet
· Administer medication and treatment in line with Hospital procedure and medical guidelines for ordering, prescribing and administration of medicines
· Undertake telephone follow up of day case patients and those discharged
· Administrative duties including inputting and maintaining accurate patient records, and using training systems
· Report near misses and untoward incidents, complaints, clinical emergencies, injury or medicine administration errors as detailed in the departmental protocols. Assist lead staff in investigating incidents as required.
· Constructively and openly question and challenge practice so that standards of care are continually evaluated and improved
