Marnock Medical Group, 12 London Road, Kilmarnock, KA3 7AE is a long established Medical Practice which has delivered General Medical Services since 1970 to a patient population in Kilmarnock and its surrounding area, which now sits at over 18700 patients. We have two sites - one based in Kilmarnock and a lovely village surgery in Kilmaurs.
We are fully staffed with 8 GP Partners, 6 salaried GPs, a Group Manager, a Branch Manager, a Nurse Manager, an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist, 5 ANPs, 4 Practice Nurses (3 of whom prescribe), an HCAs and a very experienced and long serving Administration Team of 24.
We also have a fantastic team of MDT staff including District Nurses, Health Visitors, CTAC staff, an Advanced Physiotherapist, 3 Mental Health Practitioners, a pharmacotherapy team, dietitian and child immunisation nurses.
We have weekly clinical meetings on a Monday and regular PBSGL sessions for all clinical staff.
We are also a training practice and train FY2, ST1s and ST3s.
We have a health and wellbeing group, and we regularly get out and about on various fun challenges including kilt walk, climbing Ben Nevis, cold water therapy at Loch Lomond, yoga, meditation and walking groups.
We are an Active Practice and also a Park Run practice.
We are located just a few minutes' drive from the Grassyards Interchange off the A77, within 20 minutes' drive of the southside of Glasgow and five minutes' drive from Crosshouse Hospital.
Due to the retirement of one of our existing ANPs, we are keen to recruit an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner. You will work autonomously within an established competence structure to deliver care with a clear role in the use of advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic skills to see, treat and manage patients presenting to the GP Practice.
You will work in close partnership with the GP Partners, Nursing and Administration teams to ensure comprehensive, effective and safe clinical care for Patients.
You will utilise your expert knowledge base and clinical competence, to support multi-professional teams within the Practice, ensuring a high standard of clinical care, in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
You will participate in audit and quality assurance programmes when required.
You will provide expert clinical care and management of both the stable and acutely unwell patient and support his/her family, making complex, autonomous decisions using advanced skills and knowledge, having overall responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery of advanced nursing care.
You will have the opportunity to share knowledge and provide specialist education and training to nursing staff within the Practice and to act as a role model, encouraging high standards of patient care. We also run two very active PBSGL groups and have weekly clinical meetings to support your learning.
Ideally we are looking for 22.5 - 30 hours per week, however this is open to discussion for the right candidate.
