Opportunity
British Transport Police has an opportunity for a Senior IT Project Manager to join the IT Portfolio Delivery Team. As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will lead major, organisation‑wide technology transformation projects—ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to the highest quality while driving meaningful change across BTP. We are especially interested in hearing from candidates with experience of delivering a wide range of complex IT or data related projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Leading complex, medium‑to‑large IT projects, ensuring successful end‑to‑end delivery.
* Translating strategic requirements into clear project plans, business cases, and governance documentation.
* Managing costs, benefits, risks, issues and interdependencies across multiple stakeholders.
* Working collaboratively with Business Analysts to elicit business requirements, design benefit measurement plans, run pilot schemes and become a driving force to find innovative digital solutions that solve real operational challenges and deliver measurable improvements across the organisation.
* Driving business change activities to embed technology solutions effectively across the organisation – ensuring operational colleagues in BTP have the best possible digital capabilities to suit their needs.
What You’ll Bring To The Team
* Proven experience delivering complex IT transformation projects at scale.
* Strong stakeholder communication skills, including presenting complex scope and progress updates.
* Expertise in project governance, business case development, risk management and benefits realisation.
* Ability to lead, support and develop a team of change professionals.
* A proactive and optimistic team player who excels in collaboration but is equally effective working independently.
* A quick learner who can balance multiple priorities with ease, maintaining high standards of quality while delivering against competing deadlines.
