A well-established and growing MEP building services consultancy is looking for a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join its Wokingham team.
Known for delivering high-quality, sustainable design solutions, the business works across residential, hospitality, commercial and mixed-use sectors, partnering with leading architects, developers and contractors on both new build and refurbishment projects.
Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer with some industry experience to develop their skills within a supportive and collaborative environment. You’ll take on more responsibility across projects, contributing to electrical design from concept through to completion while working alongside experienced engineers.
Responsibilities
1. Assisting and contributing to the design of electrical building services systems
2. Producing drawings, calculations and technical documentation with increasing autonomy
3. Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across a range of projects
4. Attending site visits, surveys and client/project meetings
5. Supporting project delivery to meet deadlines and quality standards
6. Developing knowledge of industry standards, regulations and best practice
7. Using design software such as AutoCAD and Revit
Requirements
8. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
9. 1–3 years’ experience in a building services or consultancy environment
10. Good understanding of electrical design principles
11. Experience with AutoCAD/Revit (or similar design tools)
12. Strong communication and teamwork skills
13. Proactive approach with a willingness to take ownership and continue learning
