Machine Operator To assist on the winders, including at times taking responsibility for the packing of the customer reels as they come off the winders. Also included are tasks like preparing the winder to receive a new jumbo and making joins etc To be responsible for the work carried out in the core cutters and core cutting areas including core loading when necessary and high standard of housekeeping. To lead lead/assist in troubleshooting in the event of running issues with the core cutting equipment To operate the various overhead cranes across the departments. To operate the auto packing areas (Trancel), the conveyor system and the auto flight system as needed To follow the appropriate procedures identified during training and specified by management. To communicate clearly and in a timely manner with colleagues and managers, being an active and constructive member of the team. To complete the specified check lists and reports as required. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping. Participation in training plans to ensure skills set allows individuals to step up and run winder if required. Prepare dry end of paper machine during paper break if qualified. Assist on paper machine if winder is waiting for paper. Test paper if required when paper machine is shut if qualified. You will participate in the induction process and formalised training as directed by Management.
