Our client, an engineering company, is seeking a Lead EC&I Engineer (Electrical Controls and Instrumentation) for a permanent position in Warrington. This role is within industries such as Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, or highly regulated sectors.
Role
This position involves leading the EC&I engineering for one or more projects, managing and completing the design, ensuring change control, and maintaining consistency across disciplines.
Responsibilities
The Lead EC&I Engineer will be responsible for the EC&I design within engineering, EPCM, or EPC projects, acting as the technical authority for the discipline.
Projects will mainly be in the UK, but may also include Europe, covering the full lifecycle from concept to commissioning, in greenfield and brownfield settings.
You will lead project coordination across EC&I, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Process, and Automation disciplines, and review engineering estimates.
Qualifications
* Experience as a Lead Engineer in EC&I within an engineering, EPCM, or EPC company, in sectors like Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, or Petrochemicals.
* Deep knowledge of EC&I engineering and design, with a good understanding of other disciplines such as Automation, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, and Process.
* Experience as a technical authority or line manager in an engineering organization.
* MEng / BEng in EC&I Engineering.
* Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (preferred), TUV Certification.
* Strong understanding of standards such as 7671, 7430, 61508, 61511, ATEX, DSEAR, LV, and HV.
* Proficiency with EC&I design software including AMTECH, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, Dialux, and Microsoft Office.
