Location: HMP Fosse Way Salary: £63,462 per annum plus excellent benefits Schedule: 40 hours per week, permanent Ready to impact a better future? As a Senior Forensic Psychologist in our HMP Fosse Way team, you’ll use your specialist expertise to deliver evidence‑based assessments, formulations, and interventions that support safer outcomes for people in our care and the wider community. Your work will help reduce risk, support rehabilitation, and improve futures. You’ll play a key role in shaping high‑quality psychological services that make a positive and lasting impact on individuals and society. What you’ll do as a Senior Forensic Psychologist You’ll be entrusted to: Provide specialist psychological assessments using a range of tools, including psychometrics, structured observations, and semi‑structured interviews. Design and deliver evidence‑based psychological interventions tailored to diverse treatment needs. Offer expert advice, guidance, and consultation to colleagues to support effective formulation and treatment planning. Act as a professional witness in formal settings such as parole board hearings and multi‑agency meetings. Supervise Forensic Psychologists in Training in line with the British Psychological Society (BPS) code of conduct and ethical standards. Maintain up‑to‑date professional knowledge, meet CPD requirements, and ensure compliance with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) standards. Does this sound like you? You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have… Chartered status with the British Psychological Society and registration as a Forensic Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council. Significant post‑qualification experience in secure settings. Experience supervising Forensic Psychologists in Training and a strong understanding of training routes within forensic psychology. Skilled report‑writing ability and confidence presenting evidence in formal settings. Good awareness and knowledge of the Offender Personality Disorder pathway and the experience and ability to make good clinical formulations of offenders with complex needs. Strong knowledge and experience in risk assessment tools (e.g., HCR‑20, SARA, PCL-R, IPDE). knowledge in research in Forensic Psychology and particularly that relating to the rehabilitation of offenders.
