Event technician

Silverstone
Bspoke Global Networks Ltd
Events technician
Posted: 29 December
Offer description

Salary : Competitive, depending on experience

Location : Northamptonshire, with global travel

The Role:

As an Event Technician, you’ll travel to F1 events all over the world to set up and support our customers up and down the paddock. It can be hard, it can be intense and it can mean being away from home for extended periods of time. It’s also good fun, interesting and occasionally exhilarating as you work in an environment that the whole world is watching.

The UK base for this role is our Operations Hub on the Technology Park in Silverstone right next to the circuit. When not at events, you will be asked to come to the office when required, to assist with maintenance of equipment and supporting other motorsport events at the circuit. As such, we ask that you ideally live within an hour’s drive of our facility.

Reporting to the Event Leader on site, and to the Race Operations Manager overall, your responsibilities will include:

* Installing and uninstalling all the cables needed to run our systems
* Working with CAT5, CAT6 and fibre optic cables in a temporary environment
* Using detailed checklists and set up plans alongside our customers
* Documenting equipment usage and managing stock
* Logging and reporting any customers needs and changes

It’s a small team and we spend a lot of time together, which means the number one attribute is a sense of humour, especially when the going gets tough. You’ll be a team player that also takes individual responsibility and you have to take pride in your work.

On top of that, everyone who works at our events:

* Is good at problem solving and working to time critical deadlines
* Is enthusiastic and always keen to improve
* Is hard working and committed
* Works to a high standard of work, tidiness and punctuality
* Enjoys social activities with colleagues in the evenings, in the day times, outside of work, between work. Actually, they just like people.

Finally, as the role requires global travel, a valid passport and full UK driving license is necessary.

Company Overview:

BGN provides comprehensive network solutions designed to meet the high demands of the motorsport industry. Our services include everything from local internet provision to complex MPLS solutions, ensuring seamless connectivity and data transfer.

Beyond motorsports, BGN extends its expertise to various other sectors, offering tailored solutions for European football, major broadcasters, and other high-profile clients. We are dedicated to optimising event logistics through our mastery of freight management, delivering reliable and rapid data transfer capabilities, and ensuring operational excellence across diverse geographical locations and challenging environments.
