About The Job
Are you passionate about helping international students develop their employability, secure meaningful work opportunities, and grow their career confidence? If so, this could be the role for you.
Responsibilities
* Support international postgraduate students as they prepare for, secure, and succeed in their placement year.
* Deliver engaging employability workshops and provide tailored one‑to‑one careers and job coaching.
* Guide students through the practical aspects of their placement journey, including applications, interviews, and compliance standards.
* Provide ongoing support while students are in placement roles and help them reflect on experiences, connect to wider career resources, and prepare for graduate opportunities.
* Collaborate with colleagues across the university, build relationships with employers, and represent the Careers Service at career fairs, employer events, and student welcome activities.
* Work as a secondment for internal applicants during the fixed‑term contract.
Qualifications and Experience
* Genuine passion for empowering students to secure and succeed in placements.
* Experience working with international and home students, and a background in careers, employability, or job coaching.
* Confidence in delivering group workshops and personalised coaching, with the ability to inspire ambition and build confidence.
* Ambitious, results‑driven, creative, and with strong organisational skills to source, administer, and monitor placements.
* Capacity to build positive relationships with employers, colleagues, and partners, ensuring compliance standards are met.
* Strong motivation to create a lasting difference in students’ employability and placement success.
