We are recruiting for a Managing Associate or Legal Director to join our market leading Commercial Dispute Resolution (CDR) team in Birmingham.
Our national CDR team is highly ranked in the Legal 500, and this role offers the opportunity to work closely with a Partner recognised by both the Legal 500 and Chambers UK. It’s an exciting time to join TLT in Birmingham. Since entering the market in September 2023, we’ve experienced exceptional growth and are moving into new premises at One Centenary Way as we position the office for what comes next.
This is a full time, permanent role offered on a hybrid working basis and will further strengthen our national Commercial Dispute Resolution team. This role is very much seen as having a genuine path-way through to partnership for the right candidate.
Your Role
We are looking for an ambitious individual to assist with the continued growth of the Commercial Dispute Resolution team and work directly alongside the Commercial Disputes Partner in Birmingham. This role will offer the successful individual the opportunity for professional growth, client exposure and excellent progression prospects.
As a key addition to the existing Commercial Dispute Resolution team, day to day you will:
* Contribute to the growth and reputation of the firm’s commercial dispute resolution practice
* Deal with a variety of commercial disputes at all levels, including litigation, arbitration and mediation
* Collaborate closely with Partners and the wider team on a nationwide basis
* Take a leading role with networking and business development initiatives
* Contribute to best practice and precedent development
* Undertake ad hoc travel to London, to attend client meetings, conferences with Counsel and for Court hearings
* Support with the development and supervision of more junior team members
* We want you to be successful. You will manage your own caseload ensuring your experience is varied and broad. Through our national service-line you will work with notable clients and become a sector specialist. You will receive bespoke training throughout your career ensuring you have the technical and commercial skills to build an effective and successful practice.
Your Skills & Experience
You will be/have:
* A Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered), already operating at a senior level in commercial dispute resolution
* A proven track record in business development and maintaining strong client relationships and, possibly, already have a client-following.
* Experience of supervising and/or managing junior team members
* Able to demonstrate first class communication skills with the ability and confidence to engage with clients and colleagues at all levels
* Able to confidently provide strategic advice to a variety of TLT clients
* An active, senior member of the team at TLT, with the commitment to developing the firm’s offering locally and nationally
