Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various psychiatric disciplines, including pediatric psychiatry and crisis management, and will be committed to providing high-quality mental health care. This role involves working with diverse patient populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The Consultant Psychiatrist will play a crucial role in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for patients of all ages.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices in psychiatry and psychotherapy.
* Provide ongoing mental health counseling, including cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy.
* Manage medication regimens through psychopharmacology, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and address complex behavioral health needs.
* Offer crisis management services to patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes.
* Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA standards.
* Engage in telehealth consultations as needed to expand access to care for patients.
* Participate in data collection and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
* Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
Qualifications
* Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Psychiatry.
* Post-residency experience preferred, particularly in pediatric psychiatry or geriatrics.
* Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
* Proficiency in addiction counseling and PTSD care is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with outpatient clinic experience as well as inpatient settings is beneficial.
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and behavioral health principles.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
