Job Description
The primary aim is to consistently provide world-class building maintenance services to stakeholders.
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for providing mechanical, electrical, and building services engineering maintenance across client properties.
This includes fault-finding, repairs, maintenance, and installations. The engineer will ensure that all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) is completed in line with legislative and contract requirements, contributing to the smooth operation of the NTL account.
In addition, the engineer will respond to reactive maintenance requests across a range of facilities within the NTL network, including offices, stations, depots, and sidings. The role also involves overseeing both major and minor project works as required.
As part of the role, the engineer will be included in the call-out rota and work as part of a dedicated team, ensuring continuous, high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete PPM, reactive works, and Fixed Wire Testing to a high standard, ensuring accurate recording in CAFM.
* Provide all necessary documentation and maintain appropriate company records.
* Keep job requesters updated on progress while supporting colleagues and clients.
* Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety requirements, including inspections and risk assessments.
* Maintain technical compliance and identify areas of concern in maintenance activities.
* Undertake general administration and contribute to projects or assignments as required.
* Monitor and enforce quality standards across all tasks to meet contractual and statutory obligations.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Electrical installation background with general maintenance experience.
* Knowledge and experience of testing and inspection.
* Ability to read technical diagrams, work from plans/method statements, and present technical information clearly.
* City & Guilds 2230 Level 3, NVQ 2356/2357, or City & Guilds
* 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
* AM1 and AM2 certification.
