Lecturer in Public Services Location: Lackham, Wiltshire Salary: £17,129 - £23,864 per annum, pro rata of the full time equivalent (FTE) £28,168 - £39,244 per annum, (Academic Grade 4-13) (dependant on skills, qualifications and experience) Job Type: Permanent, Part Time 22.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year Closing Date: Wednesday 4th June 2025 Wiltshire College & University Centre have an exciting opportunity for Lecturer in Public Services to join our team. Our campuses deliver a diversity of facilities from the country estate and farm of our Lackham campus to new hi-tech digital and state of the art facilities at our Trowbridge, Salisbury and Chippenham sites. We have invested £65 million in our estate over the past 10 years. Our turnover is £45 million per annum and growing, we employ some 650 staff, and support around 11,500students. Lecturer in Public Services The Role: Wiltshire College & University Centre is looking for a committed and energetic Lecturer in Public Services to join our outstanding team. This is your opportunity to shape the minds and futures of young people preparing for rewarding careers in the uniformed services - from the police and fire service to the armed forces and ambulance services. You will deliver engaging and relevant teaching across a variety of modules that reflect the diverse nature of public service careers. These include: Leadership and teamwork in challenging environments Physical fitness and personal development Discipline, citizenship, and government policies Understanding the structure and duties of the UK's public service organisations Your role will be more than just teachingyou will be mentoring, motivating, and helping learners realise their full potential, whether theyre heading for university, apprenticeships, or directly into service roles. Lecturer in Public Services Key Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include: Deliver engaging lessons across various public services disciplines, including leadership, emergency response, and teamwork. Develop and implement innovative teaching materials that inspire and challenge students. Monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and offer support to help students overcome any academic challenges they may face. Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive classroom environment that empowers students to excel and grow. Lecturer in Public Services - You: We are looking for candidates who: Hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Public Services or a related field. Possess a teaching qualification (or are willing to work towards one). Have experience in delivering Public Services education at Level 2 or 3. Demonstrate a commitment to student success and continuous professional development.
