Overview
As a Home Delivery Driver, you will deliver groceries to customers’ doorsteps, ensuring on-time delivery and items arrive in great condition. You will support customers with questions and substitutions, keep them informed of delays, and build knowledge about products, services and promotions to provide recommendations. When not delivering, you will help across the store as needed, contributing to a friendly and welcoming customer experience.
Responsibilities
* Drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to customers’ doorsteps, on-time and in good condition.
* Carry out checks to ensure the van is organized, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before driving.
* Serve customers by answering questions, handling substitutions, and keeping customers informed of any delays.
* Build knowledge about products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations.
* When not delivering, assist across the store as needed, maintaining a friendly, welcoming demeanor and a proactive, customer-focused attitude.
* Proficiently drive a large vehicle in varied locations, including busy residential streets and narrow country lanes, delivering to different types of properties.
* Work in a fast-paced, physical, high-energy environment, using initiative to solve problems and thriving both independently and as part of a team.
* Be flexible and productive across the store when needed, with training across a variety of skills to learn, develop and try new things.
* Be comfortable learning to use new digital tools and technology and move shopping containers up to 15 kg.

Responsibilities (Store Operations and Eligibility)
As part of the Home Delivery Driver role, you will work in our fast-paced stores that are central to the local community and focused on delivering outstanding value, quality and service. You’ll be the special ingredient that delivers what our online customers shopped for.
Eligibility
* You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it.
* You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview, and if successful, there will be a driving assessment when you join us.
* You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.
