We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as an Uncleared Margin Rule Valuations Analyst. In this role, you will work with colleagues to define, manage, and achieve divisional business targets.
Role Purpose
The Uncleared Margin Valuations team within the Collateral and Risk team of Markets Security Services (MSS) Operations at HSBC is responsible for controlling, calculating, monitoring, and reporting the BCBS 261 initial margin regulatory requirements at regional and group levels. The daily exchange of Initial Margin under BCBS 261 has been live since 01/09/2016, requiring extensive development and management of the end-to-end process flow of the daily IM exchange.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and understand the regulatory framework for BCBS 261
* Collaborate with stakeholders on the end-to-end delivery of regulatory initial margin
* Engage in dispute resolution by investigating and resolving complex calculation problems
* Work with Collateral Management, Front Office, and Quantitative Analysts to resolve calculation issues
* Participate in enhancing and maintaining the governance framework for regulatory IM requirements
* Assess the impact of regulatory or internal changes on IM calculations
* Work as part of a global team across multiple locations
Qualifications
To succeed, candidates should have:
* Experience in Market Risk Management at an associate level or similar, including calculating and validating uncleared derivative initial margin using the SIMM model
* Analytical skills and an investigative mindset
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
* Experience working with small to medium-sized teams
* Strong knowledge of derivative products (FX, Equity, Fixed Income)
* Self-motivation and a passion for learning about financial risks
* Understanding of financial products and key market risk concepts such as risk sensitivities, VaR, scenario analysis, and capital
