We’re on the lookout for a Bus Service Technician to join our close-knit team at Stagecoach Merthyr. You’ll play a vital role in keeping our modern, low‑emission fleet safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community. As our vehicles continue to evolve, you’ll be supported with training to build skills across both traditional and electric technologies.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Maintaining and servicing buses to Stagecoach and DVSA safety standards
2. Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic tools
3. Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, including roadside repairs
4. Reporting defects and completing all work safely and in line with policies
5. Collaborating with workshop colleagues and supporting junior team members
What we’re looking for:
6. A qualified engineer with City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in PSV or HGV Maintenance (or equivalent)
7. Previous hands-on experience servicing and repairing commercial vehicles, ideally in a bus, coach, truck, or HGV environment although we are open to different backgrounds
8. Confident using diagnostic tools and service manuals
9. A proactive, safety-first approach
10. A team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
11. A full UK driving licence
