A multi-site operation, situated in Holbeach Hurn and Fosdyke Lincolnshire, we consist of a 6,500 acre farming operation, joint ventures in fresh produce and four factories, employing over 600 people that package fresh, wholehead and prepared vegetables for wholesale and high-street retailers. The Role We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager to join our Team in Holbeach Hurn, working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. You will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the operations with the team on shift. Your accountabilities will include ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies. Duties to include: Ensuring full compliance with all legal, regulatory and best practice H&S standards, taking accountability for departmental activities and leading by example. Taking ownership and managing the workings required within the department(s) and in line with company policy and practice. Improving processes and policies in support of organisational goals. Monitoring adherence to rules, regulations and procedures. Supporting on any project activity where required. Planning the use of human resources, optimising labour within budget. This will include organising recruitment and placement of required staff and establishing effective workforce planning. Coaching, developing, empowering and engaging the workforce. Ensuring employees are adequately trained in line with all training requirements, supporting succession in the business. Managing employee relation activity in support with HR where required. Coordinating and monitoring the work of various departments involved in production, warehousing, pricing and distribution of goods. Ensuring quality of products. Managing quality and quantity of employee productivity. Managing maintenance of equipment and machinery and providing technical support where necessary. Ensuring effective communication within the department and in line with company requirements. Managing delivery of goods produced within company requirements, including quality standards. Supporting sales and marketing activities. Working with support functions in ensuring full operations in line with business procedures and best practice. Liaising with senior management and assisting in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. About you Experience at Production Manager or Senior Shift Manager level Food processing environment experience Experience of supplying a major supermarket Experience of managing audits with major supermarkets and regulatory bodies Experience in the delivery of financial improvements Understanding of Finance and budgets Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team Food Safety training, ideally to Level 4 IOSH Managing Safely Quality Awareness – BRC/HACCP Strong analytical skills Commercially aware Excellent written and verbal communication The ability to overcome obstacles to solve problems to achieve results Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to challenge constructively.
