We are looking for an enthusiastic Technical Purchase Sourcing Placement Student to join our team specializing in Purchasing for our Corporate/CBS Segment in UK, Huddersfield. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer of 2026.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
1. Purchasing assigned items and executes buying strategies set out by the function at optimum cost and lead times and supports purchasing/sourcing management in activities such as price benchmarking, vendor management, process analysis, market and industry research, model building.
2. Analyze sourcing information and present finding for cost reduction, process improvement while maintaining a high-quality product and delivery of service both within the function and customers both internal and external.
3. Procures inventory, supplies, and capital goods, obtains quotations, and raises orders on vendors and expedites orders to ensure that they are delivered on time in full.
4. Analyze sourcing and purchasing initiatives, follows processes in support of the delivery of cost effective and high-quality goods and services. Conducts minor supplier negotiations.
5. Engagement in design and process responsibilities to achieve most cost-effective products, prepares and presents recommendations of improvement opportunities and alternative courses of action to senior purchasing/sourcing leaders.
6. Understand and adhere to policies and procedures and champion the VPI purchasing common processes. Lead product benchmarking in support of VPI integrators to develop analysis and proposals.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
7. Working towards an Accredited Qualification in Business or Supply Chain; knowledge of technical practices or manufacturing a plus.
8. Ability to work independently as well as to work as part of a team; demonstrates working to committed deadlines
9. Proficient with Microsoft suite, such as Excel, PowerPoint etc.; power BI or business modeling an advantage.
10. Skills in Problem Solving and Project Management.
