Hotel General Manager – New 54-Room Boutique Opening in the Heart of London
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 (DOE)
Start Date: ASAP
We’re launching a brand-new 54-room boutique hotel in late 2025, right in the heart of London and surrounded by the city’s most iconic attractions. This is a rare opportunity for a hands-on, dynamic General Manager to lead the hotel from pre-opening through to a thriving, successful operation – and make their mark on one of London’s most exciting new destinations.
Alongside beautifully designed guest rooms, the hotel will feature a vibrant Food & Beverage offering, making it essential that you have a solid understanding of F&B operations — from menu development and service standards to cost control and supplier relationships.
As the driving force behind this opening, you’ll blend strategic leadership, operational control, and genuine guest-facing presence to shape the hotel’s culture and success from the ground up.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Pre-Opening Project Management: Oversee timelines, budgets, and supplier contracts; coordinate fit-out, FF&E, and IT systems; ensure all legal, safety, and compliance requirements are met before opening.
2. Leadership & Team Building: Recruit, train, and inspire a brand-new team across all departments (FOH, housekeeping, F&B, maintenance); lead by example with a positive, hands-on approach; foster a motivated workplace culture.
3. Financial Acumen: Manage P&L, budgets, and forecasts; control costs, staffing, and purchasing; maximise revenue through strategic pricing, upselling, and F&B profitability.
4. Operational Excellence: Implement SOPs for all areas; establish smooth systems for reservations, check-in/check-out, housekeeping, maintenance, and F&B; oversee audits, inventory, and quality control.
5. Guest Experience Focus: Personally welcome guests, resolve issues promptly, and ensure every aspect of their stay is exceptional — from their room to their dining experience.
6. Marketing & Brand Launch: Collaborate with marketing to promote the hotel and its F&B offering; build partnerships with local businesses and tourism boards; ensure a strong online presence.
7. Adaptability & Problem Solving: Tackle unexpected challenges with calm, decisive action during both pre-opening and day-to-day operations.
If you have proven General Manager experience in the boutique or luxury hotel sector, understand the importance of an exceptional F&B experience, and thrive in high-energy, guest-focused environments – we want to hear from you.
