 
        
        Health Physics Surveyor - 12 Month Contract (Onsite, Thurso)
We are looking for an experienced Health Physics Surveyor to join a site-based team in Thurso on a 12-month contract. This role is ideal for candidates who are available immediately and comfortable working full time on site, with some travel allowances provided.
Contract Details:
 1. Location: Thurso - onsite
 2. Contract Length: 12 months
 3. IR35: In scope
 4. Pay Rate (Umbrella): £25-£29/hour
 5. Travel & Subsistence: £75/day for those travelling outside commuting distance
Role Overview:
The Health Physics Surveyor will be responsible for monitoring workplace and equipment to determine radiation levels and contamination. Key responsibilities include:
 6. Conducting radiological surveys and reporting results promptly
 7. Issuing clearance certificates and performing radiological monitoring
 8. Selecting and operating appropriate radiological instruments
 9. Performing diagnostic checks on radiological protection equipment
 10. Controlling and issuing dosimetry for high radiation areas
 11. Operating in alpha or beta-gamma radiation controlled work areas
 12. Mentoring trainee staff and supporting their development
 13. Participating in shift work and on-call emergency response teams
Essential Requirements:
 14. Relevant health physics monitoring experience under IRR17 regulations
 15. City & Guilds in Radiation Safety Practice Level 1, NVQ Level 2 in Radiation Safety, or equivalent
