An exciting opportunity has arisen within the UKI Finance team for a Junior Data Analyst. The primary focus will be to support the UK working in the centre on activities across all of our Service Lines. The role will work with Finance Managers, Operations and Local Leadership.
The role will require the individual to provide financial and management information, develop new reports and analysis in collaboration with stakeholders and systematise existing assets. A key part of the role will be presenting this information and analysis to the end user, highlighting variances and actions accordingly.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a willingness to learn the basic rudiments of finance work including significant processing and checking, they will need to build relationships both within the team and the business and have ability to problem solve to overcome constraint.
This role is in a fast changing evolving environment with a number of changes taking place to the team’s processes and systems as the firm undertakes a Global Finance Transformation Programme. Therefore the ideal candidate will need to be flexible and have the ability to deal with change on an on-going basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Produce and publish financial reports on a weekly, monthly and ad-hoc basis for the business to monitor performance
2. Deal with queries from Business functions, Business Unit community and other staff at all levels
3. Support the roll out of new initiatives, systems and processes
4. Be proactive in raising the profile of the Junior Data Analyst role in the business
5. Be proactive in continuing own professional development
6. Explores data to identify trends and relationships between variables
7. Utilises different data sources from within the business
8. Build, develop, troubleshoot and maintain various reports and dashboards utilising Excel and Power BI
9. Ad Hoc Reporting - Deliver high quality analysis, reports, using simple and effective visualizations that can be scaled for consumption by a larger audience.
10. Partner with stakeholders to clarify requests and debriefs with client to explain data insights and confirm report
11. Deliver timely reporting and dashboards that satisfies requirements
12. Work collaboratively with team members to deliver business needs on time
13. Performs checks to ensure data quality and accuracy is consistent on all platforms
14. Use software tools to develop reports and analysis which convey relevant and meaningful information to internal customers of all levels in a concise and logical manner
15. Downloads required data and creates pre-defined reports as per defined schedule
16. Testing: ensure User Acceptance Testing is fully planned and executed
17. Assist in identifying testing resources, assigns test cases and assess progress
REQUIREMENTS
18. Keen to develop a career in Finance
19. Numerate with good data analysis skills
20. Computer literate (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word) with the ability to learn the firm’s systems and other data mining tools
21. Knowledge of MS SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and querying using T-SQL
22. Experience with programming languages such as Python & Javascript
23. Good team player, with ability to interact with staff at all levels
24. Able to demonstrate initiative in approach to problem solving
25. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail, as well as commitment to quality and efficiency
26. Client focused with a good understanding of service concepts
27. Good verbal and written communication skills
28. Receptive to change and flexible approach
DESIRABLE
29. Understanding of relational database architecture and querying
30. Familiar with Azure DevOps
31. Proficiency in visualisation tools such as PowerBI is advantageous but not essential
32. Previous experience in a project environment, managing your own projects, owning the process from start to end
