We are currently seeking an Audio Engineer to join our client’s team and play a key role in the audio-visual production of live events. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Dante networking and a solid all-round knowledge of AV systems.
Salary: Up to £36k + Direct Staff Benefits
Key Tasks:
1. Operate sound, lighting, and audio-visual equipment for events.
2. Ensure all rooms are set up with the correct equipment and securely in line with H&S procedures one hour prior to the client’s arrival.
3. De-rig equipment efficiently and safely as per the AV weeksheet, function sheets, and amendment forms.
4. Ensure all AV equipment is used safely and correctly by colleagues, freelance staff, and clients.
5. Understand and explain the correct usage and application of all audio-visual equipment to clients and colleagues upon request.
6. Communicate changes of an event to colleagues to ensure smooth running.
Management of audio-visual equipment:
1. Maintain clear records of audio-visual equipment held by the Conference Centre.
2. Undertake basic first-line maintenance of in-house AV equipment.
3. Advise the Audio-Visual manager on stock levels and equipment defects.
4. Store equipment safely and correctly, returning it to storage when not in use.
5. Protect equipment from damage during transportation.
6. Keep storage areas tidy and accessible.
7. Repair and maintain equipment and leads as required.
Management of events:
1. Experience with Yamaha and Allen & Heath digital audio desks in a live environment (Yamaha QL and Allen & Heath Qu Desks).
2. Experience with Dante networks.
3. Knowledge of D&B audio systems (preferable).
4. Experience in hybrid events and live streaming using VMIX and OBS (preferable).
5. Knowledge of MS Teams, Zoom, or other online conferencing platforms.
6. Communicate with clients during events to accommodate late changes and additions.
7. Assist conference sales executives with show rounds and client queries in the absence of the AV Manager and Senior Technician, taking precise notes for the AV Department.
8. Assist clients with last-minute requests and ensure extra equipment requests are signed off by the client.
9. Maintain politeness and professionalism with all clients at all times.
