Prospero Teaching is looking for an inspiring and knowledgeable Head of History & Politics to join an outstanding Secondary School in Maida Vale, West London. We are seeking an experienced teacher or aspiring leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and driving academic excellence. The successful candidate will lead the Humanities department across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, supporting both students and staff while contributing to the wider strategic direction of the school.

Experience, Training and Qualifications Required
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Essential
Strong subject knowledge in History and Politics
Proven experience teaching across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5
Previous leadership experience (Head of Department or 2iC) Desirable but not essential
A passion for driving academic excellence and supporting student progress
Reliable, committed, and enthusiastic about contributing to school life
Key Responsibilities
Lead the History & Politics department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages
Support curriculum development and help raise attainment within the subjects
Mentor and support teachers within the department
Contribute to whole-school initiatives and strategic planning
