Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including client's homes, in the community or group sessions. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with specific needs such as Alzheimer's and dementia care. The Support Worker will be responsible for delivering person centred care while ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
Duties
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
* Implement behaviour management strategies to support individuals with challenging behaviours.
* Assist with mobility and heavy lifting as required, ensuring the safety of both the client and yourself.
* Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote their physical and mental health.
* Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety during transportation.
* Provide care in various environments including home care, community and group settings.
Experience
* Previous experience in caregiving or support roles is highly desirable, but not essential as full training will be given.
* Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, will be an advantage.
* Experience with childcare may also be considered an asset for specific roles requiring diverse caregiving skills.
