Overview
The Procurement Manager is responsible for contributing directly to the success of Fife College, one of the largest colleges in Scotland, with five campuses across Fife: Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Levenmouth and Rosyth. The role is based during a period of expansion, including the soon-to-open Dunfermline City Campus, designed to provide learners with an exceptional experience and facilities and aligned with the Scottish Government’s Net Zero Public Sector Buildings Standard. The postholder will have the College Services: East Team to lean on, a collaborative, experienced group that supports best practice.
The prospective Head of Procurement should have demonstrable experience in a procurement role with some autonomy, and relevant tendering experience with knowledge of EU / Scottish procurement regulations. Paramount importance is placed on excellent stakeholder management, organisational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate strategically with a senior leadership team across Estates, Digital, and Professional Services.
* Utilise techniques of cost reduction, supplier selection and demand management.
* Produce and leverage enhanced management information, market intelligence and advanced supplier/contract management techniques.
* Monitor and drive improvements in ethical, social and environmental aspects of procurement.
* Maintain APUC’s position as a leading Centre of Procurement Expertise.
* Work with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with college objectives and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
* Demonstrable experience of working within a procurement role with some autonomy.
* Relevant tendering experience and knowledge of EU / Scottish procurement regulations.
* Excellent stakeholder management, organisational and communication skills.
