Horizon Teachers are working with a school in Harrow who are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant that has experience working with children that have behavioural difficulties. The school is for secondary-aged children who are being educated in an alternative provision to allow them to reintegrate into mainstream schools. The school has an incredibly high percentage of students that have successfully transferred back to mainstream school after attending the provision. They pride themselves on their ability to slowly build relationships with students and help them to overcome their limitations.
The schools are looking for someone who is keen and relentless in their approach to making a difference with students who have difficulties opening up and trusting. They need people who are persistent and prepared to put in the time and effort required to build a strong relationship with students to help them move past their difficulties and make the move back to a mainstream schooling environment. They are looking for people who understand the role and won't be disheartened or give up on students who have a long road ahead of them.
