Please note this vacancy is Open only to applicants from Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS system, which is limited to Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, Southern Health FT, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, Isle of Wight NHS Trust, University Hospital Southampton FT, Solent NHS Trust, South Central Ambulance Service or Hampshire Hospitals FT. Main duties of the job We are looking for an admin assistant to join our small and friendly team in the Dietetics, Speech & Language Therapy Department. The days of the week we require cover are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays working 8am to 4pm. The role involves indirect interaction with patients by telephone, booking appointments and outcoming of clinics and working with the three other members of the admin team. We are based in Minerva House which is on the SGH site in Tremona Road. What You’ll Do Detailed job description and main responsibilities To provide an excellent customer service to patients, relatives/carers and to external agencies. Ensure a consistent and effective administrative service is maintained at all times. Build relationships with stakeholders internally and externally. You Will WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: Have experience of working in a customer services environment. Have a friendly and approachable manner. Be polite, sympathetic and diplomatic and have a can do attitude. Provide excellent customer service to patients, relatives/carers and to external agencies, this will include communication that is face to face, over the telephone and through written correspondence. Provide comprehensive administration services and have high standards of accuracy and attention to detail. High standards of accuracy with attention to detail. Ability to communicate over the telephone and in person. Competent IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. The ability to work independently but also be a good team player We are looking for someone to join our team working Monday to Wednesday each week from 8am to 4pm. Person specification Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Essential criteria Good standard of education with literacy and numeracy skills to GCSE pass level 4-9 or equivalent standard NVQ 2 diploma or equivalent experience Experience of working in a customer led environment Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages Evidence of computer literacy Desirable criteria Courses/further study attended to demonstrate evidence of personal development Proficient in the use of hospital computerised patient systems Call handling experience Experience of working shifts Trust Values Essential criteria Patients First Always Improving Working Together
