Company This is a rapidly expanding building and construction business based in Thurrock, Essex. They work with a number of clients across the hospitality, leisure and retail sector providing tailored end-to-end services covering all aspects of commercial fit-outs. Due to this growth, they are now looking to hire a talented Finance Manager to join their team, and develop their internal finance processes. Role The Finance Manager for this growing business and construction firm based in Thurrock, will work closely with the Director, taking primary responsibility for the monthly reporting, budgets & forecasts, and commercial responsibilities. They will be involved in a number of key duties including: Ownership of WIP reporting across multiple live construction projects. Preparation of monthly management accounts and ownership of the month-end close. Cashflow forecasting and short- to medium-term planning. Budget creation and tracking at both project and business level. Oversight and support of an existing bookkeeping team. Continuous improvement of finance systems, controls, and reporting processes. Senior-level financial reporting to directors and shareholders. Profile The ideal candidate for this Finance Manager position, should have the following attributes: Ideally a qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA) with strong practical experience in a similar capacity. Strong understanding and practical experience with WIP reporting. Experience managing budgeting & forecasting processes. Background in construction / project-based industries is advantageous. Experience with Sage would be advantageous. Demonstrated track record of driving process improvements and strengthening controls.
