The post holder will be expected to provide highly specialised, expert knowledge and guidance to staff in NHS Borders on matters relating to Public Protection. The post holder will work as part of a team consisting of Nurse Consultant Public Protection, Public Protection Nurse Advisors (2 for Child Protection and 1 for Adult Protection), Lead Paediatrician and multi-agency partners. The post holder should have in depth knowledge and experience of policy and legislation underpinning Child and/or Adult Support and Protection practice with recent experience of application to practice. Requirements for the role include: Registered Nurse or midwife, with a first level degree. Post graduate qualification and expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. Broad experience and knowledge of working in child protection and in partnership working across agencies.
