Overview
We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher to join secondary schools in the Great Yarmouth area. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping them develop practical cooking skills, nutritional knowledge, and a passion for healthy eating and food science. Beginning ASAP.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Food Preparation and Nutrition in line with the national curriculum and exam board specifications.
* Teach practical cooking skills, food safety, nutrition, and food science concepts.
* Differentiate lessons to support students of varying abilities and learning styles.
* Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear targets.
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene in all practical sessions.
* Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and extra-curricular activities such as cooking clubs or competitions.
Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent.
* Strong subject knowledge and practical experience in Food Preparation and Nutrition.
* Excellent classroom and practical room management skills as a Food Preparation and Nutrition Teacher.
* Ability to inspire creativity, curiosity, and independent learning.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
