Hays are partnering with a leading organisation within the energy sector to recruit an interim Procurement Officer for a 12‑month assignment. The role will be based across their Northern Ireland sites, supporting major operational activities and working closely with a well‑established procurement team.
Your new role
1. As Procurement Officer, you will work with key stakeholders to source and procure a wide range of goods and services, ensuring value for money and adherence to internal procurement policies and processes.
2. You will manage the end‑to‑end procurement lifecycle, runpetitive tenders, negotiatemercial and contractual terms, and ensure value is delivered throughout contract execution.
3. You will also be responsible for supplier relationship management, resolving contractual issues, identifying opportunities for cost savings or process improvements, and maintaining procurement systems.
4. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams, including HSEQ, to ensure a safe and high‑performing supply chain.
What you'll need to succeed
5. Strong procurement experience gained in a similar operational or project‑based environment
6. Proven ability to manage the full sourcing cycle and deliver value throughout contract delivery
7. Knowledge of contractual terms and experience handlingmercial negotiations
8. Background dealing withplex contracts or technical supply requirements
9. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
10. Confidentmunicator with the ability to build positive working relationships
11. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and summarise data
12. Highly motivated and adaptable with a proactive approach
13. Experience within energy, petrochemical or heavy engineering sectors – desirable
14. Experience using SAP or e‑tendering tools – desirable
