HARP (Haweswater Aqueduct Resilience Programme) is United Utilities' largest capital project, involving the replacement of 6 tunnel sections along the aqueduct. This multi-billion pound project aims to secure drinking water supplies to millions of customers in the North West and will leave a legacy for generations to come.

The role

As a Senior Project Engineer on HARP, you will be a key interface with designers, constructors, operations, and independent assessors. Your responsibilities include onboarding delivery partners, managing design development, overseeing technical queries, assurance outputs, supporting Compensation Events, and providing technical leadership during outages and connections. This role requires leadership in driving technical excellence and ensuring seamless integration across all engineering aspects of the programme.
You will have visibility of our organization, major contracts, and industry partners. Your work will directly impact our success. Stakeholder engagement is vital; you will need to establish strong relationships and provide expert guidance to contractors and stakeholders.

Key accountabilities
* Collaborate with delivery teams and stakeholders to ensure successful engineering outcomes
* Enhance engineering processes and practices across the enterprise
* Develop and execute project engineering plans aligned with client expectations and quality standards
* Represent the engineering perspective within and outside the business, managing risks and driving performance
Skills & experience
To be successful, you should meet these essential criteria:
* Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or demonstrable equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience
* Experience providing technical advice at a senior level, leading multidisciplinary projects, and managing engineering teams
* Hold a current UK/EU driving licence
