The Peninsula Heart Clinic is an independently operated cardiology centre in partnership with University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. Treatment at the Peninsula Heart Clinic is delivered through a state-of-the-art cardiac cath lab, 5-bed recovery, 5-chair radial lounge, 3 individual ensuite bedrooms, and extensive outpatient clinic facilities.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
* Be part of the multi-disciplinary team providing outstanding care to our patients;
* Work within the Catheter lab providing imaging for PCI, Angiograms, Pacing/Complex Devices, and Electrophysiology & Ablation services;
* Work closely with the Peninsula Heart Clinic Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS).

Job responsibilities
Job Summary
To be part of the multi-disciplinary team providing outstanding care to our patients and work closely with the Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS). To operate within the Catheter lab providing imaging for various cardiology procedures.
Requirements & Responsibilities
Clinical
* Ensure effective radiography services within the Cardiac Cath Labs.
* Produce high-quality images tailored to patient needs.
* Provide expert radiographic advice to the department and hospital staff.
* Undertake specialised catheter lab radiographic techniques and teach such skills.
* Provide leadership, training, and induction for radiographic staff in the catheter lab.
* Work independently and monitor radiographic standards, ensuring safety and quality.
* Observe radiation safety protocols and organisation of work programmes.
* Contribute to service statistics, referrals, room utilisation, and workload analysis.
* Advise medical staff on imaging procedures and equipment requirements.
Managerial
* Support the Radiation Protection Supervisor’s quality management programme.
* Undertake specialised procedures unaided and evaluate images for quality and clinical relevance.
* Maintain equipment, record data, and monitor quality control.
* Ensure compliance with radiation safety and health and safety policies.
* Report incidents and hazards, participating in investigations as needed.
Educational
* Participate in induction and ongoing professional development programs.
* Act as an educational resource, promote best practices, and ensure staff adherence to policies.
* Attend clinical training and maintain records of incidents and complaints.
* Maintain effective communication and participate in meetings and liaising with outside agencies.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current registration with the HCPC.
* Experience in a cardiac catheter lab and QA responsibilities.
