Working full time - 37.5 hours per week. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Catering Services Team for the role of Head Chef. You will support the Head of Catering Services and manage the catering team within the department, producing the finest quality food for our patients and staff as well as delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
* Support the Head of Catering Services and manage the catering team within the department.
* Produce high quality meals for patients and staff and deliver excellent customer service.
* Develop and manage a busy Catering Service within an NHS Hospital, with potential to further develop in all aspects of management.
* Coordinate catering provisions for Ellesmere Port Hospital and ensure standards are delivered and consistently met; regular visits to the hospital may be required.
* Maintain good working knowledge of computer software including Word and Excel; demonstrate strong administration skills and time-management; ability to prioritise and delegate.
* Hold a full driving licence to support transport and management objectives.
Qualifications and experience
* Grounding in the catering industry with a preference for education to advanced certificate or diploma level minimum NVQ Qualification (Level 3) or equivalent experience.
* Strong time-management and leadership skills; capable of prioritising and delegating effectively.
* Proficient in computer software (Word, Excel) and demonstrated administration skills.
Location and scope
The role extends to the catering provision of our Ellesmere Port Hospital and its patients and may require regular visits to the hospital to ensure catering standards are delivered and consistently met. A full driving license will be required to facilitate management of this objective.
