PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £70,000 - £80,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Business Partner will play a key role within the Generative AI Programme Team, working closely with business leaders across the BBC to identify, shape and prioritise opportunities where AI can deliver meaningful business value and improved effectiveness. The role will help translate business needs into clear opportunities for AI to deliver value to the business. This role requires strong judgement, analytical rigour, excellent stakeholder management and the ability to work confidently across a wide range of teams and priorities.

The team's activities include enabling adoption of AI tools across the organisation; fostering innovation; finding opportunities to use AI to work more efficiently as an organisation, and leading the BBC's engagement on the wider AI issues that shape our operating environment.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
* Work closely with business leaders across the organisation to identify, shape and prioritise opportunities for the application of AI that deliver significant business value and improved effectiveness.
* Assess and compare ideas from different business areas, using an analytical and objective approach to prioritisation across varied goals, resource requirements, delivery complexity and success measures.
* Build strong and credible relationships across the BBC to surface new opportunities, understand business needs and manage expectations clearly and appropriately.
* Design and lead approaches that help spark innovation and shape ideas, including workshops, discovery sessions, structured interviews and collaborative problem-solving activities.
* Translate business challenges into clearly defined opportunity areas that can be explored by the GenAI team through pilots.
* Work closely with the GenAI team's senior leaders to ensure proposed pilots are aligned to business goals, are well scoped, and are positioned to achieve clear and measurable outcomes.
* Communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring complex ideas, trade-offs and recommendations are presented clearly and accessibly.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
* Strong experience of working with senior stakeholders to identify and shape opportunities for business improvement, innovation or transformation.
* An analytical mindset, with the ability to evaluate and prioritise ideas objectively across diverse business contexts, competing priorities and different measures of success.
* Excellent relationship-building skills, with experience of working collaboratively across functions and managing stakeholder expectations with clarity and credibility.
* Experience of using a range of methods to generate and develop ideas, such as workshops, facilitated sessions, discovery work or other structured approaches to innovation.
* Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders and translate business needs into clear opportunities for delivery.
