Job Description HOME CARE WORKER Introduction to BMM Care Ltd BMM Care provides high quality homecare, nursing, and healthcare services. Established in 2012, BMM Care has many years’ experience in providing a wide range of healthcare services. The current focus for BMM Care is to provide tailored homecare services to local communities all provided by taking a person – centered approach. Our approach to care means our services meet the diverse needs and preferences of people living in our communities and subsequently promote wellbeing. Role Summary: Care workers provide dedicated support for people who wish to continue living in their own home. This could include help with personal care, for example, washing and dressing. Care workers will often help with domestic duties and provide companionship. Care Workers help support the individual to remain as independent as possible to live in their own home and have access to the local community. Job Description: • Providing personal care, including showering, baths, shaving and oral hygiene. • Supporting people with mobility issues and transfers using appropriate equipment. • Preparation of daily meals and support with feeding and hydration. • Supporting and administering medication as per company’s policies and procedures. • Domestic care, to include housework, laundry, ironing, and shopping tasks. • To provide social care to clients, to include maintaining links with family and friends, paying bills, collecting prescriptions and other social activities. • To provide general care, including emergency assistance, promotion of independence and the prevention of loneliness. • To complete written reports of completed tasks after each visit and record all observations and medication. • Maintaining confidentiality. • Report any concerns regarding the health and wellbeing of the client. • Liaise with other health and social care professionals. Person Specification Mandatory training is a prerequisite. Care Certificate 6 months’ minimum work experience preferred. Good knowledge and understanding of English. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to deliver high standards of care. Ability to ensure that customers are protected, and that dignity is maintained all the time. Full flexibility to meet the demands of the service. Ability to remain calm, positive and to work under pressure with professionalism, motivation, and enthusiasm. Essential A full driving licence and use of a vehicle.
