Royal Sussex County Hospital is launching an exciting new 7-day front door service. We are looking for a skilled Occupational Therapist to expand the current team. The service will run from 8am to 8pm, covering patients in the A&E Department, Clinical Decision Unit (CDU), and Acute Admissions Unit (AAU). The team provides rapid and comprehensive assessments within an integrated therapy model, creating a seamless service across Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy to ensure an efficient patient journey.
About the Team

We Offer
* A supportive working environment with regular supervision and CPD opportunities.
* Opportunities for learning and development of clinical and leadership skills.
* Involvement in Service Development and clinical audits.
* A vital role in the development and success of this new 7-day service.
Please note, we are also looking for bank staff. Apply if interested in bank hours.
Key Responsibilities
* Work independently as an autonomous practitioner, providing specialist assessments and interventions for individuals with physical, cognitive, social, or perceptual deficits affecting their functional ability and safety at home, using evidence-based, person-centred approaches.
* Proactively promote rehabilitation to maintain and improve function and facilitate timely discharges, always prioritising 'Home First'.
* Collaborate closely with Physiotherapy colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team, providing formal and informal clinical support where needed.
* Work within a generic therapy role alongside physiotherapists.
* Supervise and lead relevant junior staff, senior staff, and students on practice placements.
* Participate in planning, developing, and evaluating Occupational Therapy services within a designated specialist team.
