A growing specialist engineering consultancy is seeking an Electrical Designer to join its expanding engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a technically focused organisation delivering bespoke electrical and control systems across complex industrial and energy-related projects.
Working as part of a small and collaborative design team, you will be involved in the design of LV control panel systems, supporting projects from concept through to build and commissioning.
Role
* Electrical design of LV control panel systems
* Producing schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical
* Supporting design activities from concept through to manufacture
* Collaborating with controls engineers and project teams
* Assisting with technical documentation and design updates
* Occasional site support and commissioning activities (~10% travel)
* Very occasional offshore work
Qualifications
* 3+ years experience of control panel electrical design for industrial automation
* Experience designing LV control panels
* Experience using AutoCAD Electrical or other electrical CAD / 3D electrical design software
* Knowledge of HV systems would be advantageous but is not essential
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work within a project team
* Willingness to occasionally support site activities
Located in Tyne & Wear, this role would be commutable from Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Durham, Gateshead, Jarrow, Hebburn, Washington, Chester-le-Street, Blyth, Cramlington, Seaham North Shields, South Shields, Morpeth, Peterlee and surrounding areas.
